The iris inspired the fleur-de-lis, a decorative symbol used by French royalty, which became tied to the French Monarchy. It was named after the Greek goddess, Iris, a messenger of love and goddess of the rainbow, commonly symbolises wisdom, hope, trust, and courage. Irises have three big outer petals known as falls, and three inner upright petals known as standards.
Place them in shallow water, as opposed to deep water as their hollow stems rot if so. However please do keep checking on the water level as they are thirsty flowers.
Iris are delivered fresh from our grower therefore they will be closed buds. Which means you’ll be able to enjoy the beauty and opulence as they reveal themselves over due course. To accelerate the speed at which your Iris can bloom sooner, lukewarm water can be added to your vase.
